GENERATIONS AND THEIR MOMENTS

We go way back. People from the countryside, people from farmhouses who preceded us in the interpretation of a magical and eternal environment. People from the world, who stimulated the impulse to reach the markets. With desire, with a spirit of improvement. And people of science and technology, winemaking and cava, passion for quality and innovation. U MES U are all this in a sum of seven decades and three generations.

ROOTS

Vineyard seasons

We like to imagine life in the 1950s. The first generation. We lacked many of the resources that seem important today, but we had the essence. The deep emotion of the vineyard, renewed every year to the rhythm of the seasons. The winters of foggy calm, the springs of exciting rain, the abundant summers, the golden autumns. And in the vines, the work at hand: constant, cheerful.

The harvests were festivals of life with the gush of many friendly voices. Our predecessors were vineyard owners and understood the importance of old trunks, healthy grapes, bottles of cava in the fresh underground. Part of that world is still with us.

The outbreak of an advanced oenology

The economy changed, markets exploded like bottles of sparkling wine and a new sense of technical excellence and innovative quality filled our old sector of Catalan wine and cava. 2000 is the moment of the second generation, the one that founded 1+1=3, a modern winery and a brand that preserves the authentically artisan character of its origins. It had always been present, but now is when the art of the sum becomes explicit.

In these years, knowledge and constant improvement lead the way and lay the foundations of the future. This is the time in which oenology, elaboration and rigorous methods take the utmost prominence.

We feel that the work of the first generations transcends and gives meaning to the present. Since 2020, U MES U renews its original commitment. Its commitment to its origins, to the light of the landscape coupled with the clarity of the most advanced techniques. The ingredients were there, and now a third vision adds to the wines and cavas of our house an identity connected to the world.

A conscious pleasure of where it comes from and where it wants to be. Our wines from Penedès, our cavas with a long history, contain a truth linked to a place and a trajectory. At the same time they are projected to the present with a free character, attentive to the environment and all opportunity for improvement. U MES U is a lively and organic way to understand wine. A new vigour in tradition, an instinct of openness that we pursue every day.
